A neighbourhood living in harmony with nature

Since 1977 when the Lentille Terres-Rouges site was shut down, several species of reptiles, bats and redstarts (a protected bird species), as well as pyramidal orchids, had taken up residence on the wasteland. Watch this short video to see what compensatory measures have been taken by the developer, IKO Real Estate, to preserve the local flora, fauna and biodiversity in view of the redevelopment of Esch’s new neighbourhood, Rout Lëns. As you will see, it’s also about reintroducing nature to the site, for example by replanting nearly 700 trees!
